population in the small intestine.
Q: How do I
know if I need this test?
A: If you’ve recently had bowel surgery requiring antibiotics or have been previously diagnosed with diabetes, acid reflux, hypothyroidism, IBS, or other issues that can affect the gut, you’re a good candidate for a SIBO test. Other symptoms include abdominal cramps, gas, bloating, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea.
Q: How accurate is the SIBO test?
A: Various factors, especially not following the testing instructions properly, can result in a false negative test in some cases. However, the breath test is considerably more accurate than blood tests.
