How accurate is the SIBO test?
Various factors, especially not following the testing instructions properly, can result in a false negative test in some cases. However, the breath test is considerably more accurate than blood tests.
Note: The specificity and thus
the accuracy of the lactulose test is less accurate than the glucose test
for SIBO which leads to higher rates of false positives.
